But as I’m sure you know, this wasn’t always the case.
Just a few years ago, I was living with my mom in Seattle, working as a shelf stacker at a supermarket.
I don’t know about you, but living with my mom, and working for the weekend was super unsexy and painful for me.
After dropping out of college for the third time, I decided to make something of myself and get into coding.
I knew a career in coding was lucrative, and I was good at it too - and soon enough I landed myself a job teaching Python code to a bunch of third grade teachers.
But that job was a grind.
Living in Seattle at the time, the cost of living was expensive, and it was a 3-hour DAILY commute to work.
The feeling of working so hard to land a well-paying job, climbing my way out of the hole I dug myself into from dropping out of college...
All to get 2 weeks off a year was just so damn miserable.
Despite feeling this way, I thought if I just doubled down on my career, things would get better…
But I knew deep down that I was just getting myself deeper into the eternal rat race that 80% of Americans are in.
Naturally, I began to wonder…
WHY DO SO MANY OF US FIND IT DIFFICULT TO ESCAPE THE RAT RACE?
The reason is simple.
You see, after spending some months trying to figure it out, I’ve distilled it down to what I call ‘Adventure Deficiency Syndrome’.
Think about it.
From a young age, we’ve been brainwashed to prioritize security above all else.
